We live in an instant gratification society. People want what they want, and they want it now. Instead of waiting until they have the cash to pay for things that they want, many people will buy them now on credit. All too often, it isn’t long before these people find themselves deeply in debt and having serious credit problems.
Because many people in this situation want their credit repaired immediately, they are attracted to companies that promise to fix their credit quickly and easily, often within a matter of days. Unfortunately, most of these offers of extremely rapid credit repair are very misleading, if not outright scams. If your credit is basically quite good with only one or two minor dings, it may be possible to restore it to excellent status relatively quickly. On the other hand, if your credit is seriously damaged, it will usually take considerable time to repair it.
Credit repair typically involves identifying errors on your credit report that are harmful to your credit rating. (Some experts estimate that 70-80% of all credit reports contain errors.) If there are some significant errors on your report, then it is possible to repair your credit relatively quickly by disputing these errors and getting the credit bureaus to remove them from your file. Understand, though, that even the process of disputing errors and getting them removed can sometimes take several months. On the other hand, if you have a low credit score due to a poor payment history and there are no significant errors on your credit report, there really is no fast way to fix your credit. It will necessarily be a slow process that starts with you making all of your payments on time on a regular basis.
While you should be wary of most offers promising very fast credit repair, there actually are some legitimate services and companies advertising that they can provide quick credit repair in 72 hours or less. These are typically known as rapid re-scoring services, and they are usually offered by credit reporting agencies that are independent. Unfortunately, these rapid re-scoring services are not available to you directly. You have to go through a mortgage lender or a broker in order to be able to work with them. However, if the option is available to you, a rapid re-scoring service may be the best choice to get your credit score improved very quickly.
